กฤษณะ ชัยกิจวัฒนะ เป็นศิลปินอิสระที่มีผลงานอย่างต่อเนื่องมาเป็นระยะเวลากว่า 25 ปี  แสดงงานทั้งในและต่างประเทศหลายครั้ง จบการศึกษาปริญญาโท จากคณะจิตรกรรม สาขาจิตรกรรม ม.ศิลปากร เมื่อปี 2545

กฤษณะ มีพื้นฐานงานจากปรัชญาในพุทธศาสนา มีแกนความคิดเกี่ยวกับความขัดแย้งของขั้วตรงข้าม เช่น โลกอุดมคติ และความเป็นจริง กลางวัน กลางคืน , ความสุข ความทุกข์, ตัวตน และ การไร้ตัวตน เป็นต้น

นิทรรศการจิตรกรรม กาลไร้นาม กายไร้ชื่อ Unnamed Time Unnamed Body มีเนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับสมมุติของเวลา นัยของชีวิต ตัวตนของศิลปิน และนิยามของศิลปะ การเกิดขึ้น ตั้งอยู่ และสูญสลายที่เป็นวงโคจรสืบเนื่องไม่ขาดสาย นัยของชีวิตนั้นเป็นเพียงแค่ความทรงจำชั่วคราว แต่ที่สุดแล้ว มนุษย์ก็ยังคงทะยานอยากที่จะประทับรอยเท้าแห่งตัวตนไว้บนกาลเวลาที่ลึกลับดุจดาราและจักรวาลที่เป็นอนันต์

ขั้นตอนการทำงาน ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจาก ภาพถ่าย portrait และผลงานศิลปะของศิลปินในยุคสมัยใหม่ ต่อเนื่องมาถึงยุคปัจจุบันที่บางคนจากไปและบางคนกำลังเดินทางตามไป กฤษณะนำต้นแบบมากลับค่าน้ำหนัก (คล้ายฟิล์มเนกาตีฟ ซึ่งมีที่มาจากช่วงเวลาการสูญเสียกษัตริย์ รัชกาลที่ 9 ที่ปชช.ชาวไทยล้วนใส่ชุดดำไว้ทุกข์ และเปลี่ยนหน้าโพร์ไฟล์เฟสบุ๊คเป็นสีขาวดำ ทุกที่ของประเทศไทยล้วนเต็มไปด้วยสีดำ)  กฤษณะ นำต้นแบบนี้มาวาดซ้ำโดยไม่เลียนแบบจนเหมือน และตีความใหม่อีกครั้ง (Appropropriation Art) เพื่อแสดงให้เห็นโลกคู่ขนานของชีวิต และ โลกแห่งการสูญสลายที่ยังคงอยู่ในความทรงจำของศิลปิน

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Kritsana Chaikitwattana is one of Thailand’s thoughtful young artists. He was born in 1977 in Hat Yai, and graduated with a Bachelor Degree from Chulalongkorn University in 1998 and proceeded to attain a Master Degree from Silapakorn University in 2002.

His recent work is concerned with dissonance – that rather disconcerting realm between fact and fiction, reality and illusion, spiritual and secular and lost and found. He does not aim to depict absolutes or ideological positions that are unassailable due to intense, impassioned, separatist, authoritarian or militant fundamentalism – one way or another – but with the places where these attitudes meet.

Sometimes these encounters may result in conflict, as when ideologies collide, but at other times this is the only place where understanding can grow.

He has exhibited widely in Thailand since 1998 when his work was included in “The Witches Stuff” curated by the late Montien Boonma. He cites Boonma as a major influence along with conceptual artists Ai Wei Wei and Joseph Kosuth and the transavantgarde artists Francesco Clemente, Enzo Cucchi and Mimmo Paladino. He has also participated in internationally in Korea, Spain, Taiwan, China (2008, the Olympics) and Singapore.

ABOUT EXHIBITION

Unnamed Time Unnamed Body is about  the  elusive concepts of time , the connotation of life, the artist’s identity and the meaning of Art . During the ongoing cycle of birth-existence-death, life is only temporary memory . Yet mortal yearns to leave behind his footprints in this vast mysterious  spacetime continuum.
