The Thai Artists Group gathers over 220 artworks covering paintings and sculptures by 77 artists ranged from renowned senior artists, such as Phong Sengking, Chalermchai Kositpipat, Panya Vijintanasarn and Sompob Budtarad, to young generation artists from Bualuang Rising Star Artis Project to be exhibited at The Queen’s Gallery on 25 December 2020 – 14 February 2021.
After Mural Painting Project (1986-1992) at Buddhapateep Temple in London was finished, four volunteer artists: Sompob Budtarad, Kitisak Nualluck, Prasart Chansupa and Rearngsak Boonyavanishkul together with two guest artists: Chalermchai Kositpipat and Panya Vijintanasarn had organized “Four Thai Artists Exhibition”. Later, the Thai Artists Group was founded as more Thai artists were invited to join the group with the aim to encourage Thai people to appreciate and realize the importance of contemporary Thai art by presenting stories that reflect the social, arts and culture through art pieces and organizing art activities to public for more than two decades.
Specially, award-winning pieces since the year 1977 from Bualuang Paintings Contest created by the group members are also exhibited together with their new pieces and with those of emerging artists. This exhibition is therefore full of aesthetics that are worth admiring.
Come to admire the masterpieces of art and the development of Thai art in “Two Decades of Thai Artists Group Exhibition” from now on to 14 February 2021 at The Queen’s Gallery, Ratchadamnoenklang Road, Bangkok. Open daily (closed on Wednesdays) from 10.00-19.00 hrs.
